NRAO Payroll and Travel Policy Assistant





Position Profile:

 

Responsible for a variety of service functions in the areas of Payroll, Data Processing, General Accounting and Travel Policy processing. With latitude for the exercise of initiative and judgment, may be responsible for the preparation of reports and correspondence requiring contacts within the Observatory and with outside organizations. In addition, may be responsible for the effective operation of office procedures in an assigned area. As required, may direct the work of other support personnel. The position reports to the NRAO Chile Fiscal Officer.

 


 

Main tasks and major responsibilities:

 

  1. Processes monthly payroll information and is responsible of the communications with the external payroll services company.
  2. Reviews Time Cards for Exempt and Non-exempt employees.
  3. Prepares accrued vacations report and conciliates this account.
  4. Prepares report on days paid for lunch and transportation allowances.
  5. Processes and reviews payment of Travel Expense Vouchers
  6. Maintains the file with outstanding travel advances provided.
  7. Reviews and processes payment for non-match invoices and requests authorization of all invoices and accounts payable.
  8. Reviews pay stubs for consistency and correctness.
  9. Reviews the fund request from the external payroll services company and charges the salaries per business unit and subsidiary.
  10. Conciliates the accounts related to the payroll.
  11. Maintains archive with the forms of the paid taxes and benefits, pay stubs and other information of the employee file.
  12. Files invoices and other documents of the monthly accounting process.
  13. Prepares the list of VAT affected invoices.

 

Requirements for the Position:

 

 

 

 

Duty Station: The NRAO Santiago Office. Frequent travel to the OSF and visits to the AOS and/or international travel may be required as needed.

 

Starting Date: As soon as possible.
